Euthanasia is the practice of intentionally ending a life to relieve pain and suffering, usually by lethal injection this provides a human, safe and painless way to end their suffering. This is why we should legalise euthanasia in Australia.

To understand why Euthanasia isn’t legal in Australia we must first understand to two types of Euthanasia. There two types of Euthanasia voluntary euthanasia and non-voluntary Euthanasia, non-voluntary euthanasia (without asking consent or against the patients will) is illegal in all countries and is considered murder. Voluntary Euthanasia is when the patient gives consent and while legal it’s only legal in certain countries like Belgium, Canada and Switzerland. So if Euthanasia is legal in those three countries why it isn’t legal in Australia well this is because of several reasons. One of the Main concerns of Legalising it is the laws enforcing it aren’t strict enough, people are able to find loop holes in the system and exploit a loop hole or persuade their parent, grandparents, or other relatives to get euthanized for their inheritance or for person reasons. Another concern is that it would undermines the basic human morals “, doctors tend to see themselves as agents of hope and healing and comfort and certainly not as agents of death
