In how Owen and Angelou represent oppression physically
In this essay I will be writing about how Owen and Angelou represent oppression physically and psychologically and how they represent that through poetic techniques. There are two poems; “Disabled” written in 1917 by Wilfred Owen while the other poem “Still I Rise” written in 1978 by Maya Angelou.
“Disabled” is about how a man suffers from war physically and psychologically and “Still I Rise” is about the confidence and self-respect she gives herself from the suffering she receives from other people and how she ‘still rises’ from that oppression.
