According to Oxford Dictionary

According to Oxford Dictionary, stress can be defined as a state of mental or emotional strain or tension resulting from adverse or demanding circumstances. Stress is also a way the body reacts to a challenge. The body’s way to respond to stress is by sympathetic nervous system activation which results in the fight or flight response. Stress typically describes a negative condition or positive condition that can have an impact on a person’s mental and physical well-being. Everybody experiences stress at some point of their life. Stress can be work or job related, family related or can be because of studies, poor health or even financial problems. At times, the death of a close person also causes stress. Some people handle stress effectively while some people fail to take appropriate steps to distress their life. As students, stress is a word that is closely related to us especially because of the studies. In this case, stress comes from our family and teachers who are pressuring us to do well, as well as from the competition among friends to excel. Stress cannot be eradicated but ways to manage it can definitely be practiced.
